About the project

As part of our PR and communications support for the Boat Building Academy and Furniture School in Lyme Regis, CCC took on the complete redesign of the academy’s website. As with many websites that have developed over time, navigation and content were suffering from duplication and complexity. The site also had to be designed so it could be managed and easily updated by the BBA team.

CCC delivery

  • Advised on language, tone and content
  • Storyboarding
  • Brand design and consistency
  • Co-ordination with our website developers and digital partners

The process began with a workshop really looking at the brand positioning of the BBA and the stories it wanted to tell more generally. Working with the team we sharpened up its storytelling with a more people-focused approach which we carried over into developing their website. Our priorities were to amplify the human element through imagery and a more personal approach to the written word. Key also was a clearer user experience, with fewer pages, less clicking and more intuitive navigation. We also recommended that the Boat Building Academy and Furniture School websites, which had been separate, were combined into one new site. Behind it all was a brand new e-commerce system to take care of all transactions, bookings and charitable support.

Key to the success of the project was the backing, creativity and technical expertise of our digital partners, Monster Creative.
